The discussion also branches into Cyber Insurance and whether companies who offer these policies are able to accurately underwrite them. The solution for them is a back door, voiding the policy in the event of a breach and claim. These policies are very new and difficult for underwriters to understand and stay ahead of in the face of security threat escalations and evolution. Cyber Insurance is still very new and generic….buyer beware.
