At the midpoint of Cybersecurity month Brian sits down with the leadership team from the CompTIA IT Security Community… Lisa Person, Director of Member Communities at CompTIA, Ron Culler, Senior Director of Technology & Solutions with ADT Cybersecurity and Neal Bradbury, Senior Director Business Development with Barracuda MSP.

Many of the questions we receive from the IoTSSA community are about next steps getting started with a cybersecurity offering, maintaining a current security stack with continuous evolving threats and accreditations for both MSP’s and their clients. CompTIA have developed tools and a wealth of education designed to help members build a successful IT services business.

1. CompTIA Security Trustmark Plus built around the NIST cybersecurity standards. The journey to certification is most times the most valuable part of the accreditation itself for both the MSP and their clients.
2. IT Security Assessment Wizard is a straightforward, three-page questionnaire intended to help build a profile of the interaction between the IT Service Provider and their clients.
CompTIA roots are in education and support for the channel. Neal Bradbury tells us why he got involved with CompTIA and the Security Community…’Everyone is in the same boat, everyone is trying to figure out the best way to do security, the best way to build their business….Everyone is also trying to help everyone grow their business’. The collective sentiment rang loud in our ears at IoTSSA as our mantra is ‘We are all better together’.
